Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has ruled out any chances of working with Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the approaching 2022 general elections.
In an interview on Radio Maisha's 'Bunge La Maisha' Tuesday morning, the former Deputy Prime Minister declared that he will have no political contact with Ruto going forward.
With both leaders having hinted at vying for the presidency in the race, Mudavadi termed it unrealistic for people to 'fantasize' about him collaborating with his opponent.
"Siwezi fanya kazi na Ruto, hiyo ni ndoto. Yeye ni mpinzani wangu, hatuna cha kuzungumzia (We have noting to do with each other, he is my competitor and I cannot work with him)," he said.
He, however, expressed willingness and readiness to unite with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi who has is as well considered to be keen on succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mudavadi noted that they have worked together in the last with the Kenya African National Union (KANU) boss and would repeat the same should fate reunite them.
"Kuhusu Gideon, tumewahi fanya kazi pamoja na sioni shida tukishirikiana tena (we have collaborated before with Gideon and I don't see any problem if we do it again in the future)," he added.
The two leaders were earlier in the month urged leaders drawn from Mudavadi's Western Kenya region to join hands and face the poll as a team.
This followed their joint visit of Kakamega county for a series of fundraisers.
Gideon is considered Ruto's main political rival, especially in their Rift Valley bedrock.
