A section of youths from Gusii region have commended President Uhuru Kenyatta following his stand over MPs decision to push for salary hike.
Rachael Moraa, a youth leader in Kisii county urged President Uhuru not to sign the Bill once it will be taken to him to sign.
"Greediness must come to an end. As youths we stand with Mr. Kenyatta to bring down the MPs' greedy demands," she stated.
Lilian Nyaboke regretted that a section of Gusii MPs have joined a camp pushing for salary rise. "Come 2022 the current Gusii MPs won't make it to Parliament because they have put their stomachs first instead of the locals' interests. It is high time the electorates to be vigilant not to be cheated in 2022," she noted.
Isaac Motari lauded the Head of State saying MPs should be satisfied with their current salaries. "Uhuru should be firm and ignore threats by MPs. No money should be paid to the greedy MPs pushing for salary hike. Kenyans elected the MPs to champion for development and not hiking salaries," he said.
The vocal Jubilee youth leader maintained that President Uhuru should count on youths' support in fighting MPs' demands to hike payment.
