Speaking on Tuesday during a live prime time television programme at NTV, Atwoli revealed that the list will be made public in 2021.

The vocal trade unionists said that the people of the vote-rich region needed to be guided to protect them from duplicitous politicians.

Research, he said, would be conducted before the list is drawn and shared with the public.

"That is what is coming in 2021. They must be guided. The democracy we have people must be guided. We must not go back to where people cheat other people, some even come to me and say support me and immediately they get there they forget... We are going to carry out research in every constituency. From that up to someone who wants to be our spokesperson and we will announce," Atwoli said.

The flamboyant trade unionist took umbrage at some leaders in Western Kenya for short-changing the electorate, calling it unacceptable.

Atwoli is a leader of great stature in the Luhya community and his political pronouncements are seen to carry a lot of weight.

Leaders of the community seek his endorsement to win elections.
