President Uhuru Kenyatta should reward Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i by endorsing him for presidency in 2022, an ex-MP in Nyamira County has said.
Ex-West Mugirango MP James Gesami said Matiang'i is fit to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
"Matiang'i has been a serious in his work since 2013. He has performed well unlike DP William Ruto who has been traversing the country launching unnecessary projects," he said.
Gesami insisted that a section of politicians led by flamboyant businessman Don Bosco opposed to Matiang'i's new job in the Jubilee government are dwelling on vendetta.
"Mr Kenyatta should ignore desperate politicians opposing Matiang'i's promotion and consider endorsing Matiang'i for the country's top seat in 2022," said Gesami.
He assured Matiang'i that he will get the full support from the Gusii community members.
"We won't abandon one of our own if he goes for presidency. Impunity will be at zero rate if Matiang'i becomes the next president," he added.
Gesami challenged elected Nyamira leaders to be united for the sake of offering quality services to be the electorates.
