The Garissa Water and Sewerage Company (GAWASCO) has issued a notice on expected service interruption that is set to kick off as from Wednesday 24 October.
According to the notice, the interruption of water supply is meant to allow the company to remove sediments on one of the two basins at the Garissa Water Treatment Works.
However, all the areas being supplied by borehole waters shall not be affected by the said interruption.
"The Garissa Water and Sewerage Company (GAWASCO) would like to inform its esteemed customers that there will be an interruption of water supply to most parts of Garissa town from Wednesday 24th October 2018, 6:00 am to Thursday 25th October 2018 6:00amThe interruption will involve operating on half capacity to facilitate desludging (removal of sediments) of one of the two basins at Garissa Water Treatment WorksAll the areas that are supplied by borehole water will not be affected by this particular interruption," reads the notice.
