Popular Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has come out to offer his apology to Tanzanians for losing to Kenya in the recently played AFCON match.
The comedian while writing on Instagram, described the Tanzanians as worthy opponents. Harambee Stars defeated Taifa Stars with a 3-2 victory with Michael Olunga being named as the man of the match.
"First of all let me say thank you to our brothers and neighbors Tanzania. You were very worthy opponents. Respect to you. Secondly let me give you my sincere apologies for any grief and pain that we caused. You are not only our neighbors but also our family in East Africa (Kwanza niseme Asante kwa Ndugu na Jirani wetu Tanzania🙏🏽🙏🏽...You were very worthy opponents👍👍HESHIMA kwenu...Pili niwape pole zangu kwa Msiba na Uchungu yeyote tulio sababisha...Nyinyi sio Jirani tu ila ndugu na familia moja Africa Mashariki),” he wrote on Instagram.
Some netizens had also taken Omondi’s jokes seriously. He, however, went ahead to clarify that it was just for the sake of the game and his jokes should not be taken seriously.
“Remember it is just a game, it’s only jokes. I love you Hamisa Mobetto I love you. Your pain is our pain; your happiness is our happiness. Respect and appreciation to both the government of Kenyan and Tanzania (Mkumbuke it's just a game, ni utani tu... @hamisamobettonakupenda bure❤️🙏🏽.
