A report released by Ipsos Synovate on Wednesday ranked Deputy President William Ruto as the most corrupt individual in the country at 33 per cent.

The DP was closely followed by Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru at 31 per cent.

The two have however dismissed the polls, with the DP terming the report as propaganda being sponsored by his political competitors whom he has defeated in terms of delivering services to Kenyans.

"All these headlines and these opinion polls are sponsored by our competitors because they cannot match our development record. I want to tell them when they are through with the headlines, and with the corruption propaganda, let us meet at the development arena," said Ruto.

The Ipsos poll findings have reignited the 2022 succession debate in Kiambu County, with the "Hatuna Deni" slogan emerging again.

The topic was reintroduced by Kimani Turacco, a musician from Kiambu, who last week released a song dubbed 'Muici ni muici' in which he urges President Uhuru Kenyatta to arrest government officials involved in corruption.

The above post has elicited mixed reactions among Kiambu residents, with some claiming Turacco is just seeking attention while others sided with the musician.
