A man has now come out and claimed responsibility for Belgium's semi-finals exit from the World Cup.
The man from Langas estate in the outskirts of Eldoret town said he has had a grudge with the Belgium team after losing out his loan money when he placed a bet on Belgium to loss the match against Japan in the round of 16 last week.
The man known widely to the locals as Dr Matiaba said, after losing his money, he went to some of the best local witchdoctors in Eldoret town to performs their acts of seeing the team never to reach any final.
Declining to reveal the said witchdoctors, Dr Matiaba said he was grateful for them for bringing down the team that had denied him peace of mind after being always chased by the local lenders to clear his debt.
"It's a nice revenge. I am really grateful today to my 'lords' for bringing down Belgium, the team that has given me some sleepless nights after denying me Sh1.6m in their game against Japan," he said.
Matiaba is known to several locals in the area for always engaging the witches whenever he was agitated, with most of the time proving to be successful.
And with Belgium now bundled out, a section of the locals have approved to be true given his past success.
"It is true, we know Dr. Matiaba very well and his threats have always come to pass,' said James Nzioka a local.
