President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of greetings and goodwill to Kenyans as they celebrate Easter holidays.
In his message on Friday, President Kenyatta said Easter is a time for Kenyans especially Christians to reflect on their relationship with God.
The President asked Kenyans to remember the less fortunate and show compassion to the needy this period.
President Kenyatta said his government recognizes the difficulties some Kenyans are experiencing especially the drought being witnessed in some parts of the country.
The President assured Kenyans that the government is working to mitigate the situation.
He urged Kenyans traveling to rural areas and other destinations to observe road safety precautions.
"During this long weekend, let us be safe and remain secure. For those of us traveling to different parts of the country to be with out loved ones, please observe road safety precautions," he said.
The Head of State also urged Kenyans to remain vigilant and embrace the spirit of community policing this period.
"Equally important and in the spirit of community policing, let us stay vigilant in our neighborhoods and ensure that our families and our neighbours are safe. Let us all be the Biblical brother’s and sister’s keepers," he said.
He also called on Kenyans to take advantage of the long weekend to register for Huduma Namba.
President Kenyatta said Huduma registration center will remain open to give those who have not registered chance to get the Namba.
He revealed that 11 million Kenyans have so far registered on Huduma system since the exercise began two weeks ago.
The President said that with Huduma Namba, Kenyans will be able to get world class service delivery from the government.
He also revealed that Huduma Namba registration for Kenyans living in diaspora will start on May 6 for a period of 45 days.
