Speaking in Ugenya on Saturday during the burial of former Senior Chief Daudi Owino Olak, Raila disclosed that the President’s Jubilee Party is not fielding candidates in the two constituencies because of the unity derived from the March 09, 2018 handshake.

By-elections in the two Constituencies are set to be held on April 05, after the Supreme Court annulled the elections of Chris Karan and Julius Mawathe respectively.

He urged residents of Ugenya to overwhelmingly vote for ODM candidate Chris Karan, insisting that the seat belongs to the Orange Party.

"What will it look like if someone else got the seat he (President Kenyatta) left for me?” posed Odinga.

“I urge you to commit and vote for my candidate," he added.

He was accompanied by among others Chris Karan, Ugunja Member of Parliament James Opiyo Wandayi and Siaya Senator James Orengo.

Karan’s win in the 2017 general elections was annulled after former MP, Movement for Growth and Democracy’s David Ochieng filed a petition in court.

The two rivals will face off during the by-election, alongside Brian Omondi of the Third way Alliance Party and Daniel Juma of the Grand Dream Development Party.
