On Friday, the calm village of Chepsaita in Turbo constituency became the meeting ground of governors, Cabinet Secretaries, Members of Parliament, Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) and Deputy President William Ruto.
They all came in large numbers to give Farouk Kibet’s dad a final send-off.
The burial ceremony of the late Mzee Paul Teigut also turned into a political field as the politicians debated on DP Ruto’s presidential bid in the coming general elections.
Every leader who stood vowed to rally behind the DP and urged him to choose his running mate from his home region.
Farouk Kibet, a senior political fixer and Deputy President William Ruto’s Personal Assistant is the main reason as to why all the dignitaries flocked at the little-known village to lay the remains of Mzee Teigut to rest.
Speaking during the event, Garissa Town MP and National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale revealed why the MPs and Kenyan politicians fear Farouk Kibet.
”There is usually delicious food in the office of the DP at 1.30 pm but Farouk Kibet is the only person who can stop you from testing that meal. When he says your appointment will be on Tuesday no matter the urgency it will be just that. Many politicians approach him with a lot of care and when you see these MPs praising Farouk don't think they are fools,” revealed Duale.
