The 2022 succession politics in the country has already kicked off as each region is preparing their candidates to run for the presidential seat as it has been the norm in the previous general elections.
Alliances, coalitions and political agreements are already the topics of discussion among the lovers of politics in the country.
Rift Valley region has not been left behind as it is always a major contributor for any presidential victory. The vote-rich region is known for its political unity and a high voter turnout and any assurance of votes from this region is a guarantee of nothing less than a win.
This time, things might not be the same as two politicians from this region, Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi are already in the presidential race.
The two might both find themselves at the ballot box or decide on whom to go for the seat.
DP Ruto and Senator Moi have been engaging in nasty political fights as each of them try to control the region.

Endorsement by the Kalenjin community
The Kalenjin community is known for its unity when it comes to politics. Elders and political leaders in the region will obviously have to choose one candidate to be supported by the voters from these regions. In the event that Senator Moi will be endorsed, then DP Ruto will have no other option but to support the son of the former president.
Desertion of DP Ruto by Mt Kenya region
DP Ruto is waiting for president Uhuru Kenyatta to pay back his favour of supporting him in 2013 and 2017 general elections. However, things have not been how Ruto expected as the crack between the leaders from this region is a clear message that he should be prepared for anything. If the Mt. Kenya region will not honour its promise, then there is no doubt that Ruto will be of no match to Gideon Moi.
