Residents of Nyanko village in Nyanguru, Nyaribari Chache in Kisii County are in a rude shock after a middle-aged man committed suicide on Saturday night.
Confirming the incident area chief Evans Nyaribo said the deceased Kefah Momanyi Nyabaro returned home drunk at around 9 pm and picked a quarrel with his parents as usual.
"Nyabaro has been a troublesome person whenever he returns home. He picked a quarrel with his parents before he was calmed by neighbours and went to his house to sleep," said Nyaribo.
The chief said the deceased didn't show any sign that he was to end his life prematurely.
"This morning his mother went to wake him up so that he can eat breakfast but, he didn't respond prompting her to alert neighbours who arrived and broke the door of the deceased house only to find his lifeless body dangling from the roof of his house," said the administrator.
He regretted that cases of suicide in the area have been on the rise in the recent days.
"It is worrying that young people are ending their lives mysteriously. Youths should seek spiritual guidance whenever they are faced with challenges in life," he said.
Police officers from Nyanguru picked the body to Kisii Teaching and referral hospital morgue.
