The eldest son of Kenya's second President Daniel Arap Moi succumbed to cancer last week while undergoing treatment at a Nakuru hospital.

Amollo took to social media to mourn Jonathan who was described by many as humble, generous and a man of the people.

The MP said the life of the former rally driver should be a lesson to all on the importance of living a principled life.

"A solemn moment attending the funeral service of the late Jonathan Moi at Kabarak. Listening to the eulogy and speeches, JT’s life teaches us the value of being your own man/woman, in spite of where life thrusts you. Rest In Peace Wuod Jaduong’," Amollo tweeted.

The funeral was attended by various local and international leaders who condoled with the Moi's family following the demise.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga were absent as they are currently in China for a State visit.

However, Uhuru message of condolences was delivered by his brother Muhoho Kenyatta who was accompanied by former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

Others present included Deputy President William Ruto, Chief Justice David Maraga, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, former Vice President Kalonzo Muskoka and more.

Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, who delivered retired President Mwai Kibaki message, described Moi as a humble man who lived peacefully with his village-mates.

"JT was a person who lived comfortably with his neighbours including the poor from Kabimoi village despite being President's son," Wamalwa said.
