Opposition leader Raila Odinga remains the main man in the Luo Nyanza political scene, landing him many allies, some sincere and others just for political elevation.
Unlike the likes of Siaya Senator James Orengo and Suna East lawmaker Junet Mohammed, there exists others who despite being allied to the former Premier, remain largely unknown, especially to the outside world.
Here they are;
1. Hamilton Orata
The second-term Homabay Deputy Governor is one of the Luo Nyanza top politicians who can walk in the streets of Nairobi City without being recognized.
The leader is not known for being vocal and has further been dealt a blow by his placement under Governor Cyprian Awiti, denying him the needed publicity.
2. Dr Mathews Owilli
He is Governor Anyang' Nyong'o's deputy and another ally of Odinga.
Owilli is also not very popular, except for some of his constituents in Kisumu and has been overshadowed by the Professor.
3. James Okumbe
He is the Siaya Deputy County Chief and another silent type who is not known to thrown jabs at opponents during political rallies and functions as is the case with several other politicians.
Okumbe was elected alongside Governor Cornel Rasanga in 2013, before securing a re-election in the previous 2017 polls.
The three have been instrumental in running the affairs of the three Luo Nyanza counties which are considered Odinga's political strongholds.
