Former Meru Woman Representative Florence Kajuju has been sworn-in as the Chairperson of the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ).
In a Gazette Notice No. 8044, President Kenyatta appointed Washington Opiyo Sati and Lucy Kamunye Ndung’u as members of the commission which is also known as the Ombudsman which took effect on August 2, 2018.
Their appointment followed an approval by the National AssemblyCommittee on Justice and Legal Affairs, with Kajuju succeeding her predecessor, Otiende Amollo who was elected Rarieda MP on August 8, 2017, General Election in Siaya County.
Kajuju unsuccessfully defended her seat in the 2017 elections through President Kenyatta's Jubilee Party.
The three were on Wednesday sworn in by the Chief Justice David Maraga at the Judiciary buildings in a ceremony attended by Judiciary Chief Registrar Anne Amadi.
The commissioners will serve for a six-year term.
The Ombudsman investigates abuse of power, unfair treatment, injustice and unfair or unresponsive official conduct of public officers.
