Orange Democratic Movement party treasurer Timothy Bosire has poked holes in Kenya's electoral processes, arguing that the establishment has been non committal in implementation of basic processes.

At Manga Catholic on Sunday, Bosire recalled how he was allegedly harassed by the state for not supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta's bid.

The former Kitutu Masaba MP said IEBC worked with unknown elements to manipulate results of those who were against the status quo.

"They harassed me and eventually rigged me in polls. You all remember that they withdrew my security. I can assure you that we never had elections," he said.

Bosire added: "Even in the presidential polls, the courts confirmed that the process was skewed. The other day, Justice David Maraga confirmed in London that we did not have polls in 2017. He even added that we have done nothing to prevent future rigging."

While delivering a lecture at Oxford University last week, Chief Justice David Maraga accused the executive and parliament of selective implementation of constitutional provisions. He also lamented Kenya's inability to hold credible polls.

He said there is little hope on redeeming the county as Parliament and the Executive continue cherry picking in the implementation of the Constitution.

“Three examples will suffice — failure to implement the gender equality principle under the Kenyan Constitution, failure to fight corruption and impunity and failure to hold credible elections,” said Maraga as quoted by the Standard.
