Most Luo men still prefer marriage to their own.

Is there a story unfolding in your community? Let Hivisasa know

This however does not prevent them from flirting around with ladies from the other communities, but always have their fate sealed.

Here is why your Luo boyfriend will most likely end up leaving you for a fellow Luo at the end.

1. Pressure

Despite being of age and in full control of their lives, Luos remain under and have great respect for their elders, specifically parents.

Most parents and relatives find it hard embracing outsiders as their in-laws, and prefer their tribes men, leaving the young men with no option.

This is usually because most of them have not had contact with the outside world and do not know their qualities, ruling out tribalism.

2. For the good of future kids

Luos are brought up in strict adherence to their traditions and culture, traits that are supposed to be passed from generation to the next.

Marrying from another tribe is therefore observed as a hindrance to the same, as the children will have to learn both cultures which could be too much for their young minds.

Also, with the stipulation that their children should know the Luo language, it becomes hard as the parents will have to speak Swahili or English at home.

This makes it hard for the children to naturally master the Luo language, and renders them a laughing stock back at home.

3. Stereotypes

Every community has it own assumed characteristics, some good and others bad.

And since the bad usually stand out more, it drives them away in fear, with most opting to deal with their own set of beliefs which they know how to handle.
