According to her mother Caroline Kaburu, Wanjiku who has a heart problem was born prematurely.

Kaburu noted that she has never had a healthy pregnancy, revealing that she lost two babies during childbirth.

She further added that despite Wanjiku surviving childbirth, she has had complications since day one.

She narrated that doctors at Kenyatta Hospital, Karen Hospital and the Matter Hospital have all confirmed that her only child has a heart problem and requires an open heart surgery which she can be done in India.

“The baby has uncontrolled pressure, she has excessive sweating and fast breathing. The doctors said there are two holes in the heart and one keeps on expanding because at birth it was 3mm and now it is 7mm,” said Kaburu.

She added that the family lives in the outskirts of Juja in Witeithie Ward, and cannot afford to pay for Wanjiku’s surgery in India.

The family is now appealing to any well-wisher who could come to their aid to support them in raising funds for the surgery.

Kaburu revealed that the surgery to have the holes closed and repair the mitra valve will cost Sh1.5 million.

She said well-wishers can send their contribution to pay bill number 265680, account name Abijah Medical funds.
