Two MCAs allied to Wiper party have hit out at Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu warning her against using former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka's name for political sympathy.
Speaking separately, Kyuso MCA Stephen Makau and his Tseikuru counterpart Boniface Kilaa accused Ngilu of dragging Kalonzo's name into her alleged administrative problems.
The duo asked Ngilu to tackle her issues without mentioning Kalonzo's name.
According to the MCAs, Ngilu is trying to evade answering audit queries in relation to the county's budgetary allocation and spending.
"Governor Ngilu should stop dragging Kalonzo's name into her administrative issues and explain how her government has been utilizing taxpayer's money," Makau said.
He addressed the press in his ward on Tuesday.
Makau said they will not pass the supplementary budget unless Ngilu comes clear on the county's expenditure.
On his part, Tseikuru MCA Boniface Kilaa said, "It is malicious for Ngilu to claim that we are playing politics in our oversight role as Members of the County Assembly."
Kitui MCAs have vowed not pass the supplementary budget.
Last week, the MCAs approved a motion to impeach Kitui County Finance Executive Mary Nguli.
Two weeks ago, Ngilu pleaded with MCAs to pass the supplementary budget.
She warned that county activities are likely to cripple if the budget is not approved.
The NARC governor pleaded with Kalonzo to intervene and have the MCAs approve the supplementary budget.
She said majority of the MCAs allied to Wiper Party were trying to frustrate her administration.
Since her election in 2017, the Kitui County boss has experienced frosty relationship with MCAs, majority who are from Kalonzo's Wiper party.
Ngilu was elected on a NARC Party ticket.
She is serving her first term in office.
