Former Rongo parliamentary candidate David Osiany has blamed his loss on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) primaries ahead of the previous general elections.
Speaking at an interview on Radio Maisha Monday morning, Osiany who doubles up as a political analyst claimed that he was ranked second in a race he won.
This he blamed on unfaithful persons involved in coordinating the primaries, with the certificate ending up with Paul Abuor who went ahead to win in the main elections.
‘’Mimi ndiye nilishinda lakini nikarushwa nambari mbili (I won but was ranked second),’’ said the youthful leader.
He defended his move to not vie for the same as an independent candidate despite pressure from his supporters and area voters whom he said pushed him into that.
Osiany who was as well expected to participate in the concluded senatorial race to fill the vacant seat left after the death of Ben Okello said that the citizens discouraged him from going for the seat.
He claimed that they instructed him to begin at the parliamentary level for effective leadership, adding that he will as well consult them on what position to go for in the approaching 2022 polls.
‘’Sikupigania useneta maana watu wa Rongo walikataa lakini 2022 tutajaribu tena Mungu akipenda. Hata wakisema tuendee ugavana tutaendea.
(The people of Migori advised me against vying for the senatorial seat. However, I shall even go for the gubernatorial seat in the 2022 general polls should they give me the nod),’’ he added.
The senatorial seat was won by former Cabinet Minister Ochillo Ayacko on the ODM ticket.
