Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has weighed in on former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale's recent crossover to the Jubilee Party from the opposition's Ford Kenya bloc.
The former Ford Kenya deputy party leader crossed over to Jubilee last month, in a public function that was held at his Malinya backyard in Ikolomani, Kakamega county, and presided over by Deputy President (DP) William Ruto.
Asked about his take on the same during an interview on Milele FM's Kivumbi show on Tuesday morning, Mudavadi simply said that he really pities the former Kakamega gubernatorial aspirant for the wrong move.
"Namhurumia sana Khalwale (I really pity Khalwale)," he responded.
He hit out at Western Kenya leaders for allegedly being easily lured by money reportedly being offered by the DP, adding that a good number of them do not stand for anything but are only chasing after handouts.
He, however, noted that a good number of the group supporting the DP have since lost their political value, adding that Ruto has been having it easy capturing them 'at a low price'.
"Anaona siasa za watu hawa zinapungua so anawanunua at a low price. Wanasiasa nao pia wanafuata pesa na wallet za watu. (He is buying them at a low price because they have depreciated politically. The politicians are also chasing after people's wallets)," he said.
So far, Ruto has managed to woo a good number of Luhya leaders, some of whom have already endorsed his 2022 presidential bid.
