A chilling video shows a bus cruising towards the Central Business District (CBD) overturn has caused ripples online.
The bus bound for the CBD from Githurai which was clearly moving at a high speed is seen swinging before turning in front of a Total Petrol Station located along the Thika Super Highway.
People are seen rushing to the scene of the accident to help the people trapped inside the ill-fated bus.
It is not clear whether there were casualties in the incident. The buses plying the 44 and 45 routes have been known to move at very high speed.
This is not the first time that the buses have been involved in an accident. In 2015, a Githurai 45 bound bus overturned on two saloon cars.
Last year, another Githurai bus lost control and plunged downhill, leading to several deaths.
Careless driving on Kenyan roads is said to contribute significantly to road accidents in the country. Scores of people lose their lives annually to fatal road accidents.
The government introduced speed governors and seat belts in a bid to curb fatalities caused by road accidents.
National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) was established with the express aim of reducing road accidents by ensuring that drivers observe traffic laws while on the road.
