Katombi is a stage name for popular Benga Kamba artist Alex Kasau.
Born on April 19, 1983, Katombi has been thrilling his fans with electronic performance.
He is also the band leader of ‘nguuni lovers’.
The singer found himself in trouble when Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Ezekiel Mutua promised to jail all immoral artists in the country.
The moral cop promised to jail the artist if he does not concentrate on music that is positive in nature.
"If you can't be creative in a positive way to build moral values and help society grow, then you have no business in the industry," Mutua said.
"We will get you to jail and auction your property if you cannot change, we won't allow you to destroy our children," Mutua added.
The singer was, however, not happy with the declaration.
He asked Mutua to consult his Kamba dictionary to see the meaning of 'Katombi'.
Katombi studied at Nguuni Primary School from 1989 to 1999 and got his Kenyan Certificate in Primary Education.
He decided to join Kisasi Stars band where he started his long journey in music.
He was living in Mombasa at that time.
Interestingly, Kamba's love his music.
