Former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim has hit out at Chief Justice (CJ) David Maraga over what he terms as slow pace in concluding election appeals pending before the Supreme Court.
Maalim claims that the Supreme Court is taking too long to hear and conclude election petition appeals filed before it.
He said that the court ought to have determined all appeals by now.
He raised concerns over a number of gubernatorial appeals that are pending before the Chief Justice David Maraga led court.
"CJ Maraga should give equal preference to all election petitions the way the court does for presidential petitions," he said on Saturday.
Maalim said that justice will not be rendered to parties if the appeals continue pending in the Supreme Court.
"The CJ should deal with these appeals with the urgency they deserve, " he said in a statement on Twitter.
Several appeals are pending before the Supreme Court among them the one by Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua challenging the Court of Appeal ruling that nullified his victory.
The appeal is pending ruling.
