Sijeny said Kalonzo’s remark does not warrant any criticism.

She said political critics should leave the Wiper leader alone since he did not offend anyone with the statement.

“Kalonzo’s "mtu wa mkono" remark does not in any way offend anyone hence politicians should allow the former VP time to mourn his father,” Sijeny said.

Sijeny claimed that Kalonzo had been briefed by President Uhuru Kenyatta about his new role (peace envoy) before his father's burial last week.

“Kalonzo did not speak out of context because there has been communication between him and the president on his new job,” she said.

She spoke during an interview in a local TV on Wednesday.

Sijeny said as Wiper party,  they welcome Kalonzo's new role in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government.

She said the party will soon convene to discuss Kalonzo’s new job and his 2022 presidential bid.

Sijeny appealed to Wiper politicians to remain calm and stop speculations which could derail the party’s future plans.

A section of Kamba politicians has criticized Kalonzo’s "mtu wa mkono" role in President Kenyatta’s government.
