The shocking revelation of the details about Sharon Otieno's murder whose body was found dumped in Kodera forest in Homabay has received a lot of reactions from Kenyans, especially university students.
Sharon, a student at Rongo University was alleged to have been in a relationship with Migori governor Okoth Obado.
Moi University students, in particular, expressed varied opinions on the murder which has taken centre stage on social media. Whereas a section of the students criticized her for getting involved with a married man and more so a politician, some, however, thought there was nothing wrong with her actions.
"As a Christian, it is completely wrong for a young lady to sleep with a married man especially someone old enough to be her father. The lady knew very well that there would be consequences but still proceeded with the affair," Judith Moraa, a second-year student in the school of education stated.
Speaking on the basis of moral righteousness and Christianity, Kevin Mbugua also agreed with Moraa. Despite their disagreement on the lady's moral values, they, however, both criticized the murder of Sharon Otieno and termed it as a great injustice.
Another group of students thought Sharon Otieno was just a victim of bad luck and there was nothing wrong with her actions.
"It is called survival for the fittest. The young lady was only trying to survive in a competitive environment. She had to keep up with the lifestyle that's why she opted for the relationship," Edward Kiprop stated.
Most of the students nonetheless condoled with the family and demanded justice to be served.
