Police officers in Kericho county have launched a manhunt for a suspected gang of criminals that killed a family of three on Monday night.
The incident that happened in Matobo area left the man of the house, his wife and child dead. Police suspect the three were hit on the head.
According to Kapchebor Member of County Assembly (MCA) Erick Bett, the family moved to the area recently after buying a plot and were discovered dead after concerned neighbours raised alarm.
Bett said the couple was found in their bedroom covered in a bed sheet.
“It is suspected that the family who recently bought a plot in the area were murdered last night. It is only until today at 5 pm that neighbours got concerned after not seeing any of them outside,” the MCA was quoted by the Standard.
The murder was also confirmed by Kericho Deputy Police Commander Patricia Nasio who said that the suspects most likely accessed the house through the window.
Suspects are still at large and their motive remains unknown.
