Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has faulted a group of politicians that has been crying foul in the reignited fight against corruption in the country.
The group whose most members are allied to Deputy President William Ruto has faulted Haji's operations, claiming that the fight is seemingly targeting a specific community.
But speaking on JKL Wednesday evening, Haji called for more sobriety among politicians with regards to the issue, urging them to stop politicizing and tribalising the matter.
"Its very sad that people are politicizing this issue. We need to come out of this scenario where people mobilize their tribesmen to defend them after being implicated," he said.
He also cautioned the people who have been coming out to defend their leaders being implicated in corruption involvement, terming them the actual victims.
"No tribe sits in an office, its the individuals. And the people defending their people are the ones suffering at the end of the day when the money gets lost," he added.
Ruto's allies have also read malice in the latest Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal, terming it a deliberate plot to stall development in Kerio Valley region.
It's in this region in Elgeyo Marakwet county where the two major projects are set to be constructed.
