Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has condemned and called for thorough investigations into the shooting of former Garissa County Finance executive Idris Mukhtar.
Duale wants investigations into the shooting expedited and culprits involved brought to book.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Duale said that the shooting was mysterious, adding that those involved must be dealt with according to the law.
“The investigative agencies should expedite probe and ensure culprits who attempted to kill Mr Mukhtar are arrested and prosecuted,” he said.
The former Garissa finance CEC is battling for his life after being shot in the head by unknown assailants last Sunday.
He was shot when he had gone for evening prayers at Nairobi’s Hurlingham mosque.
The former minister is admitted at the intensive care unit.
On Wednesday, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin haji called on police to expedite investigations into the shooting.
