Embattled former 1,500 meters World Champion Asbel Kiprop on Saturday sent panic among fans after he threatened to mess up with his riffle.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Kiprop asked the National Police Service (NPS) to relieve him of his duties.
He further directed IAAF to collect his medals claiming that he no longer needs them.
“I pray to National Police Service to dismiss me Now. Before I use their machinery to earn myself Justice. Kindly IAAF come take your medals. I don’t need any on my house wall,” his Facebook post read.
His post came a few days after he was handed a four-year ban over allegations of doping.
Kenyans of good will encouraged Kiprop to compose himself, adding that his problems didn't mean the end of the world for him.
Others called on those close to him to offer him support .
