Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has made history for being the first governor to get a clean audit report.

The Council of Governors on Thursday praised the second term county boss for his exemplary performance since devolution was adopted.

Governors from various counties have been travelling to Makueni for bench-marking. 

The office of the Auditor General Robert Ouko’s released a report indicating that all the funds assigned to the county have been properly utilized.

“Congratulations to @OfficialMakueni for being the first in the country since the start of devolution to get a clean Audit report from the Auditor General,” read part of the statement by the Council of Governors.

Kibwana has initiated various projects in his backyard since he was first elected into office.

In February, Kibwana unveiled a processing plant in Kathonzweni in a bid to improve the welfare of dairy farmers in the region.

The project was implemented through the International Livestock and Research Institute (ILRI) with funding from the USAID. 

He has also been a champion when it comes to Community-led Development projects. 

His exemplary performance has seen him endorsed to run for the top seat in the country after President Uhuru Kenyatta completes his second and final term in office. 

He is considered one of the most influential politicians from Ukambani.

Nyandarua County under the leadership of Governor Francis Kimemia also received a clean Audit report from the Auditor General.
