Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has rubbished claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta has abandoned his Deputy William Ruto.
Duale says that Uhuru and Ruto are in good political terms and their resolve is to champion development.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday, Duale further said that President Kenyatta fully supports DP Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
He indicated that the president does not need to announce his support for DP Ruto on TV.
The outspoken legislator said that the president's support for Ruto is a private affair, adding that people should stop making noise.
The Garissa legislator said that DP Ruto has declared interest to fly the Jubilee ticket in 2022.
He added that other candidates are free to declare their interest in the top seat if they wish.
There has been debate on whether President Kenyatta's Mt Kenya region will support Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
A section of Mt Kenya politicians led by former Jubilee Party Vice chairman David Murathe has been quoted saying that they will not support Ruto in 2022.
Murathe says that DP Ruto should retire alongside President Kenyatta in 2022.
The former Jubilee Vice chair has even threatened to block DP Ruto's 2022 presidential bid in the Supreme Court.
