President Uhuru Kenyatta left tongues wagging last week when he visited his deputy William Ruto at his Harambee Annex office.
Impeccable sources have now revealed the secrets of the two leaders’ talks.
According to the sources, who spoke to Sunday Nation, Uhuru went to the office to prepare Ruto of impending arrests of his close allies.
The arrests are mainly out of the reported dams scandals and Uhuru wanted his deputy to endorse the war on corruption and not read political mischief.
The paper has established that high profile government officers will be frog-marched behind bars starting April in a move likely to shake the government.
“The President wanted his deputy to back him and not read mischief. The arrests can easily break the government if not well-handled,” a source said.
The source added: “ He went to prepare him psychologically such that he will not take it personally.”
Other sources at State House revealed that Uhuru had met Raila before going to the Harambee Annex office.
“We highly think Raila told him there is a need to inform Ruto (of the arrests) prior,” a source added.
