Kitui county deputy governor Wathe Nzau has lauded the South Eastern Kenya Economic Bloc (SEKEB) saying it will spur development in Ukambani region.

Wathe was speaking on Friday during the burial of Lazarus Mutuku Maliti brother to Machakos county deputy governor Francis Maliti in Kalukuni area in Yatta sub-county in Machakos county.

"This bloc is very helpful to our region and this is what Ukambanineeds," he said.

Nzau also praised the three Ukambani governors for coming together for the sake of development.

"It is a great move by our Ukambani governors. It's a rare occasion to see leaders united like this to work for the people," he said.

SEKEB is a block formed by Kitui, Makueni and Machakos counties

The burial was also attended by Machakos county governor Alfred Mutua, Yatta Mp. Charles Kilonzo, Machakos county speaker Florence Mwangangi, MCAs among other leaders.
