Moderate Gusii MPs are working around the clock to have ODM leader Raila Odinga sharing podium with DP William Ruto in as many months.
Last month, Ruto snubbed Governor John Nyagarama son's funeral last-minute despite having promised to be part of the mourners, an event which Raila attended as well.
The MPs led by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi are in final stages to formally have the two leaders attend the funeral of former minister Henry Obwocha, tentatively slated on 17th August.
"We should have them meeting and reconciling. As MPs from Nyanza, we believe both have to work together to bring top seat in our region," said Momanyi.
He added: "I am aware Raila will be attending. We have notified the DP and hopefully he will not decline the invitation like last time."
The two leaders have avoided each other and Ruto's camp ha openly complained about Raila's new relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
From Thursday until Sunday, Uhuru and Raila will pitch tent in Nyanza where they will unveil several development projects.
