In a tweet that would be deleted later, Ruto indirectly linked Uhuru and Raila to his woes just a day after he was ranked the most corrupt Kenyan.

“Those running 'injili ya shetani' that unless your father was a minister, a vice president or a president however hard you work you must remain poor and if not a pauper you must be corrupt & have stolen, they should know that those without god fathers we have GOD the father. Shindwe,”

While Uhuru's father Jomo Kenyatta was President, Raila's dad Jaramogi Oginga Odinga was the country's first Vice President.

At Kenyatta's memorial service on Wednesday, a defiant Uhuru insisted that his handshake with Raila, which has been openly opposed by Ruto's allies, is there to stay.

"It is only Raila and myself who have the deep understanding of the handshake. It's the solution to our problems," said Uhuru.

Although Ruto supports the handshake, a section of his allies led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen have been quoted linking it to Ruto's woes.

With Uhuru and Raila championing for war against corruption, a section of Ruto's ally have often linked it to a wider plot to bring down the DP.

"We can only support war against graft which is genuine. What we are seeing is pure witch-hunt," Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei had said.

On his part, Murkomen added: "Some elements in the presidency are hiding lifestyle audit just to underpin the DP's 2022 chances."

The attack on Presidency precipitated simmering tensions within Jubilee that has seen two sides ranking.

A group from Uhuru's Mt. Kenya has accused Ruto's camp of sabotaging the president's agenda through early campaigns with reports emerging that MPs from the region have been barred from attending political functions.

"Watch this space. The Mt. Kenya MPs will not be attending political rallies. They will be focused on delivering Uhuru's agenda," Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe had said.

With elders from Central Kenya urging Ruto to retire along with Uhuru, those from Rift Valley wants the president to pay debt.

Ruto's tweet on Thursday elicited sharp reactions with political pundit Nyachieo Bogonko terming it the start of 'State House troubles'.

"Ruto has now started a serious war. He will fight back and Uhuru must be careful. Troubles have now started," he said.

But ODM Treasurer Timothy Bosire added:" Let him come out and account for his wealth. It's rather strange that he tells us of being a son of a poor man than accounting for what he has."

A research by IPOS Synovate ranked the DP as the most corrupt Kenyan at 33 per cent.

While addressing a section of youths in Kisii on Thursday, Ruto linked the research to his 'competitors' adding that he will meet them on the ground.
