Garissa Township MP Aden Duale once found himself in trouble over allegations that he had allegedly instructed criminal gangs to attack the Kamba community living in Garissa.
In a clip that went viral, Duale allegedly asked the gang not to allow the community (Kamba) to do business in Garissa county.
In the clip that Duale later disowned, he was quoted allegedly claiming that he will bail out the criminals if they were to be arrested by the police.
The clip that surfaced online on January 6, 2017, months to the August 8, general election threatened to end Duale’s political career.
A section of Kamba leader’s condemned Duale over the alleged statement asking security agencies to probe him.
The Kamba leaders even threatened to hold demonstrations for Duale’s arrest.
Duale, however, disowned the clip, saying that it was part of his political enemies plot to taint him ahead of the 2017 general election.
The Garissa MP maintained that Kamba community living in Garissa co-existing peaceful with other communities.
The MP asked his detractors to stop using dirty tricks to get votes.
