This comes only days after the party Vice Chair David Murathe and Secretary General Raphael Tuju made anti-Ruto remarks on different occasions.

Speaking with Citizen TV on Sunday, Tuju rubbished claims that Ruto was the automatic candidate for the party in 2022, saying that he will have to undergo a test.

Ruto's allies have now come out guns blazing, accusing him of attempting to sabotage Ruto's bid, and are now daring him to join the race for the Jubilee flag.

Kipkellion West lawmaker Hillary Koskei has warned the former Rarieda lawmaker against undermining the DP, saying that he is not in any position to stop him.

He mocked Tuju to join the race and spice it up before Ruto crashes him.

“If anyone, including Tuju and Murathe, imagine Ruto is a light-weight, then I dare them to challenge him for the party’s presidential ticket in 2022.  We don’t mind people spicing up the race,” he told the Standard, Monday.

The remarks were echoed by David Pkosing (Pokot South) and Robert Pukose (Endebess).

“It was irresponsible and unfortunate for Tuju to make such remarks considering the recent storm caused by Murathe. The timing was very wrong and the statement is completely unhelpful,” he said.

Murathe on Wednesday hinted that the party could betray the DP in 2022.
