Former Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Rashid Echesa Mohammed has been urged to look for another job after being told to step aside by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday last week.
Echesa was relieved of his duties and replaced by former Education CS Ambassador Amina Mohammed, with Professor George Magoha being appointed to take over the education docket.
Reacting to what befell Echesa, Kisumu Central Member of Parliament (MP) Fred Odhiambo Ouda urged the former CS to accept his fate and ‘move on.’
“He is not the first person to be fired. He should stop complaining and look for another job to do. He called for it, he has gotten it,” said the vocal MP who is a close ODM leader Raila Odinga's ally.
The MP was speaking during a live interview on K24 TV on Sunday night with Fred Indimuli alongside his Kiharu counterpart Ndindi Nyoro.
It is not clear why Echesa was fired amid allegations that the opposition leader Raila Odinga had a hand in the firing.
Speaking in Kakamega County over the weekend, he claimed that like most Kenyans he is yet to establish the cause of his dismissal from cabinet.
He was appointed the CS for Sports on Friday, January 26 last year to replace Hassan Ali Wario.
