An opportunity to visit a girl's school was always a pleasure back in high school.
Kisumu girls would prefer Maseno School while Highway boys would prefer St Theresa.
School trip days were one of those few days you wouldn't want to miss school for anything.

1. Borrowing new attires
Even for those who used to take a single shower every two weeks, this was the time everyone wanted to look their best.
Some students went as far as borrowing every attire including socks and neckties.
2. 'Everyone' came from Nairobi
Only a few students would reveal their real hometowns.
Most students would say they came from Nairobi so that people thought they were modernised.
Boys from Nairobi were more appealing to the ladies.
3. Taking pictures and exchanging contacts
It was important to have a photo shoot session alongside some cute girls or boys.
It was the only proof to friends back at school that you indeed rocked the show.
Exchanging contacts during the school trips made it possible to remain in touch especially during holidays.
4. Sending love letters
For those who never got the chance to be on board during the trips, they would write love letters to their crush or friends in the hosting schools so that they could be delivered for them.
They would also make sure the letters were perfumed to make them look 'cool'.
It was such an amazing experience.
