Police have dismissed the alleged disappearance of Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT) student who was shot after he tried scaling State House wall.
Kilimani OCPD Michael Muchiri has said that the student, Bera Kibet is still being held by the police.
The statement comes after reports went round that the student had escaped from the Kenyatta National Hospital under unclear circumstances.
It had also been alleged that the nurses and other officers manning the student had gone missing from the health facility pending a probe into the incident.
The police boss also revealed that the student had recuperated after the shooting incident and they were planning to take him to court for arraignment.
"We are still holding Bera Kibet. He has recuperated and we are preparing to charge him," Mr Muchiri said, as quoted by Daily Nation.
The police also said that the suspect who had disappeared from the health facility also had a similar name.
On Tuesday, Chief magistrate Francis Andayi has directed the police to investigate the matter with immediate effect.
Kibet had shocked Kenyans when he revealed that he had plans to kill President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The father, David Bera, said that his child needs attention and not detention after showing unusual habits.
