Former CNN presenter Soni Methu is dead.
Soni, a reporter at China Global Television Network (CGTN), passed on in Diani, Mombasa on Thursday. Her younger sister, Faith Methu confirmed the demise of the presenter.
She said that the presenter had complained of pain at around 6 p.m. before she met her sudden death.
The sister also said that the presenter was feeling pain in the stomach before he died.
“She started looking like she was having a seizure and my sister-in-law rushed her to the hospital but she died on the way. We don’t know much but a post-mortem will be done to tell exactly what happened,” wrote Faith.
Before her untimely death, Soni was working with CGTN after leaving CNN to in 2016. The deceased was an alumni of Strathmore University alumnus.
She began her career at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation. Besides being a presenter, she featured in different movies including Taj show and Hila. During her acting career, Soni rose through ranks because of her determination and hard work.
Presenters from different media houses have continued to send their messages of condolence to the family of the deceased.
The death of the presenter is not only a big loss to the family but also the entire nation.
