A plane crashed on Saturday near Bixa at Tiwi in Kwale County.

Preliminary reports indicate that the plane had 5 passengers.

The aircraft was flying from Maasai Mara Game Reserve en route to Lowdar.

Confirming the incident, Rift Valley Police Commander Edward Mwamburi said that the police have embarked on a rescue mission.  

The plane reportedly developed mechanical problems before it hit a tree. The details of the accident, however, remain scanty
