Fresh from making the Group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup and yet to land in Kenya; Gor Mahia will have no time to rest after they were pooled in the Group D of death pitting Egyptians giants Zamalek, Algeria's Hussein Dey and Petro Atletico of Angola.
This was announced today, Monday, following the draw of the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup conducted in Cairo, Egypt.
The Kenya Premier League defending champions are expected to arrive from Doula, Cameroon on Monday night before heading to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania the same night for the SportPesa Super cup.
They will be defending their title in the neighboring country and will start their campaign against Tanzania's Mbao FC on Wednesday.
Later, Gor will begin the Confederation cup outing at home against Zamalek on 3rd February.
They then play away in Angola against Atletico Petroléos, before hosting Hussein Dey of Algeria. Their third match will be away to Hussein Dey, then head to Egypt to face Zamalek for the return leg, before winding up their group stage escapades against Atlético Petroléos of Angola at home.
The team did not make it out of the group stages in the competition last season and will look to play better, especially at home, to make it to the latter stages of the competition.
