Several leaders having declared interest including, the DP has one man to watch; Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi.

After serving in nearly all top political positions in the country, only the Presidential seat is missing in the colourful CV of Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi.

Mudavadi's only stab at the presidency was in 2013 where he came a distant third. And perhaps after soul-searching, the man from Sabatia has made the necessary corrections and could now be ready to go for it once again.

Indeed, he confirmed this over the weekend when he declared that his name will be on the ballot.

After playing a key role in the formation of NASA coalition ahead of 2017 election, Mudavadi reinvented himself.

Today, he is riding on that NASA wave that gave Jubilee Party a run for their money in the last election. And as a fierce critic of the government today, Mudavadi has many admirers who think he has what it takes to govern through the country.

Moreover, if the claims of a looming coalition between him and the President are true, Mudavadi will truly be the man to beat.

Despite this not being just enough to propel him to State House, it is enough to cause Ruto and his campaign team sleepless nights.

Having been the chief campaigner of the NASA coalition in 2017, Mudavadi will surely come up with a plan that will make him a more complicated candidate to beat.

As much as many believe his lacklustre approach to politics is his greatest undoing, as he is seen as very soft to compete in Kenya's rough politics, it is high time Kenyans prepare for Mudavadi presidency as it's in the offing.
