A pastor in Makueni county is facing accusations of defiling and impregnating a 14-years-old girl.
Jackson Mbithi, a pastor at UBC church in Emali is said to have visited the girls' home and forced himself on her.
The girl's mother said that when her daughter began to get sick, she took her to the hospital where she was declared pregnant.
She said that her daughter was a Sunday school teacher and didn't think that the man of God would do such a thing.
"My daughter used to go to teach the Sunday School kids and clean the church, then she started getting sick. On taking her to the hospital, I was told she is seven months pregnant," said the mother.
"That's when I went to the police station and reported the incident. The pastor had committed the crime inside my house and threatened the girl with death if she breathes a word to anyone," she added.
The mother wondered why the police are taking too long to arrest the culprit despite reporting the incident on Thursday last week.
The girl told the media that the pastor found her doing the dishes at home where he wrestled her to the ground and defiled her.
However, the pastor denies the claims citing that they are meant to discredit him before the eyes of his churchgoers.
"That girl belonging to 'Mwiitu wa asa' (sister in the Lord)ai no, I would never do such a thing, yes I have heard the claims but they just want to destroy my name. I would never try such a thing let alone with a kid that's shameful and sinful," said the pastor.
"I haven't even slept with anyone since I came to this town, how would I have impregnated that kid, they are just baseless rumours," he added.
