On Friday 1st March 2019. The country woke up to surprise news about the President reshuffling some of his cabinet secretaries.
In the mini reshuffling, the President fired Sports cabinet secretary Rashid Echesa and reassigned Amb Amina Mohammed who was the Education cabinet secretary before the reshuffle.
KNEC chairman and former universities of Nairobi of Nairobi vice-chancellor Prof George Magoha has been appointed the Education Cabinet secretary among the key reshuffles that has happened.
However, City lawyer Nelson Havi has told the president that sacking Echesa was not enough statement of intent to fight corruption that has recently become unmanageable in the country.
The reshuffling comes after Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in office, warned the CSS against misusing public resources.
The commander in chief of the armed forces has maintained that he will not allow the public office to loot what belongs to the taxpayer.
According to the lawyer the President needs to do more including firing cabinet secretaries under Finance, Energy, Agriculture, Water and Mining.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta’s firing of Sports CS Rashid Echesa is cosmetic surgery on the nose of a bedridden heart patient.
What he needs to perform is an open heart surgery to deal with the blocked pulmonary artery and vein: Finance; Energy; Agriculture; Water and Mining" reads a statement by the City lawyer Nelson Havi.
