Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is now risking a faceoff with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party members weeks after he was condemned by President Uhuru Kenyatta's allies for allegedly disrespecting the Head of State.

This comes after Kuria was on Tuesday pictured alongside a team of Jubilee Party lawmakers that declared support for Embakasi South politician Musili Mawathe whose win was annulled by the Supreme Court in December.

The move to endorse the Wiper candidate in the upcoming by-election seems to have angered ODM Nairobi County chair and Makadara lawmaker George Aladwa who is now accusing Kuria of being 'nosy and a busybody'.

Speaking on Radio Citizen's 'Mjadala Wa Citizen Show' on Thursday morning, Aladwa told Kuria to stay off Nairobi issues or face the wrath of ODM members in the county.

"Kuria was elected in Kiambu, let him deal with Kiambu issues or otherwise we will deal with him. We will not allow him to venture into Nairobi to try and complicate things the way he has done in Kiambu," said the firebrand legislator.

This comes barely a week after the Jubilee leadership confirmed that it will not field a candidate in the race.

Aladwa accused Kuria of using the small opening to try and reignite his fading star after accusing the President of sidelining the Mt Kenya region in terms of development.

"He is trying to rebrand himself after his big mess but we will not allow him to do it in Nairobi. He should respect his party and keep quiet," he added.

The Raila Odinga-led ODM has since issued a direct ticket to former area lawmaker Irshad Sumra to vie in the by-election.
