According to the witness who was quoted by Daily Nation, firefighters arrived at the scene on time, but were unable to save any single life because the plane had burnt completely.

The further noted that the temperature around the scene was too high for the firefighters forcing them to wait for some time.

“The blast and fire were so strong that we couldn’t get near it. Everything is burnt down,” said the witness, as quoted by Daily Nation.

Following the crash, the government and various agencies set up emergency centers to help pass information to affected families and friends.

Yesterday, the Kenyan government sent a special team lead by Transport Permanent Secretary Esther Koimett to Ethiopia to assist in the identification and transportation of the kin.

The Ethiopia Civil Aviation Authority and Ethiopian Transport Authority has already launched a probe into the cause of the incident. The government has assured families of the victims that it will come to the bottom of the matter.
